Intellectual Freedom in Canada – CAUT Article on Barrick Gold (Peter Munk), Law Suit and UT Donor

This month’s CAUT Bulletin has several articles of interest to the UT community, the one here is on the court’s verdict over the intimidation by the Barrick Gold Corporation against the author, who has been questioning the conduct of Peter Munk’s corporation. The court said t”…that “Barrick seems to be trying to intimidate authors” and that such conduct was ‘apparently abusive’…” (Caut, BULLETIN, Oct. 2011, p.A5) and CAUT makes note about the University of Toronto’s protest over the terms under which the Munk School was established via the donation from Barrick Gold founder Peter Munk (p.
